Neradmik

The Neradmik Kennel has been breeding top quality Keeshonds since 1975 and has produced 28 UK Champions with many more overseas.

Many of these dogs have also provided the foundation to build many of the more recent successful kennels.

Jean Sharp-Bale is currently Top Breeder in the UK and has held this title many times over the last 16 years.

After 23 years, I have decided to step down from the Committee but I am proud to say that I have been given a life membership of the Keeshond Club. I am still a member of the Kennel Club.

About Neradmik

  Jean

My first introduction to Keeshonds was Sheba who was half Keeshond, half Chow. Sheba convinced me that I wanted a coated Spitz breed and I liked both the Chow and the Keeshond but I finally settled on the Keeshond simply because I was told they were better with children. My first pure-bred Keeshond was Noarks Rhonda bought from Mrs Cooper in 1971. I bred one litter from this girl but decided my foundation bitch was to be Davean Cover Girl bought from Mr David Kitson, the beginning of the Neradmik Dynasty! Cover Girl’s sire was ch. Heinz Sparkler Dam ch. Beatrix of Davean.

Mrs Sylvia Scroggs then asked me in 1974 if I would like pick of dogs from the proposed mating between Ledwell Heidi and Ledwell Dutchman. I was in shock! Fancy me being asked I thought! She didn’t press for a decision and suggested I think about it for a while before making my mind up. I thought long and hard and in the interest of matrimonial harmony I decided that it was best left. I did not hear from Sylvia again until 20th October 1974, a letter arrived from Sylvia it read, “Buster Sharp was born on 14 October”. As they say the rest is history! At Buster’s first couple of shows he did nothing. Following that he got a reserve, which I thought was a move in the write direction. His first real break came in Scotland when his honour Judge John Hopkin saw something in Buster he really liked. He placed him first in all three classes and went on to give him the Reserve CC. I couldn’t believe it! Buster went on to win 26 CC’s, 16 Reserve CC’s, 2 Groups, 2 Reserve Groups, BIS Windsor & BIS BUBA. Ch Ledwell Lysander (Buster) was special and never to be replaced. To this day I think myself so lucky to have been chosen to have him by Sylvia. This dog changed my life completely and gave me the perfect platform with which to enter the breed. Read Buster’s Story

Since then I have had in excess of 50 litters producing 28 home bred Champions (one of which is the breed record holder Ch Neradmik Jupiter), a further 5 that were not bred my me, and winning in excess of 200 CC’s.

I am a Championship Show Judge for Keeshonds, Chow Chows and Japanese Spitz. I have judged Keeshonds on the Continent, the USA and Australia. The greatest accolade being Crufts and the Club Championship Show. I also Judge many other breeds in the Utility Group.

Breeding

As a Kennel Club Accredited Breeder all my Keeshond breeding stock is DNA sampled as well as being PHPT Negative. All matings go through the epilepsy survey and are PHPT Negative, either by test or descent. I only have possibly one or two litters a year.

Following the successful mating of Fin. Ch. Lady Godiva’s Day Dream to Ch. Neradmik D’Artagnan, a beautiful bitch puppy, Lady Godiva’s Guilty Pleasures with Neradmik (Tallulah), has joined the Neradmik clan.

News

Tallulah has ended the year by winning winning her fourth CC with BOB and Group 4, thus making her, I believe, top Keeshond bitch.

Coco has been lightly shown throughout the year but has not been beaten in her class and will hopefully come back next year with a new coat (from Chanel!)
