Judging Critique for Keeshond Dog of The Year Match – 12th May, 2019
Many thanks to the officers and committee for giving me the honour and privilege of the judging this event. Everything about
it was absolutely superb, the excellent Catalogue, the brilliant raffle, the outstanding buffet meal, and the hard work involved
produced an event that will last long in the memory. Every little detail had been thought of and the awards on offer were
stunning. Thanks also to all exhibitors for their kind words and accepting my decisions in the way they did making a lovely
atmosphere as all winners were applauded from the ringside. Thanks also to Hazel Fitzgibbon, my ring steward for the day
which made it even more enjoyable.
My Veteran of the year winner was Ch Wund RY Workin For a Livin at Szaryk. Lovely head and eye, and still with good
dentition. Nice neck into sound body and in good bloom. Nicely boned with true front and well balanced overall. Loved the
day out and took the handler for a walk around the ring, showing extremely good fitness and energy.
Reserve Veteran was Ch Zandvoort Dream machine, Another that well deserved the placing, nice size and super balance with
pleasing bone and substance. Well presented and still moved out well. A close call between these two.
Best Puppy was my star of the day. Ch Skathki Just Got Wicked. At only 16 months, very well put down and in full bloom.
Up to size but excellent conformation, short coupled with excellent spring of rib, super neck showing off his masculine head
with dark eye and well placed ears, well used. Strode out well around the ring and was also awarded Best Dog of the Year.
Reserve Puppy was Amikirs Doubly Delicious (A1), one that was unlucky the meet the winner on the day, being well balanced
and moved pleasingly both ways, had a nice reach of neck good well defined head. Should have a good future ahead.
Dog of the Year was as above.
Reserve dog of the Year was Torrikees Made in Heaven at Devonia. One that could reach the heights being of nice size and
substance, short coupled, well boned, super neck showing off a lovely head and expression topped by super ears. Also moved
well around the ring.
