Judge’s Critique

Many thanks for the invitation to judge and the good entry. I had a very enjoyable day, good stewards helped things run smoothly and some very good dogs to judge and a few close decisions to make. I was able to find fairly square dogs with the correct coat texture, some were a little too soft and in some cases this might have been down to a recent bath, however you can only judge what you see and feel. I found a few rather straight tails and some a bit low set. Handling was mixed but sportsmanship excellent.

Minor Puppy D

1. Andrews’ Neradmik Daddy Bear with Maldine
Liked his square outline. Sound mover. Has a masc head, well defined stop and flat skull. Dark eyes. Can grow into his ears still. Enough neck. Slightly moderate in front angulation. Well ribbed back. High set tail. Correct rear. Still in his puppy coat. V promising pup. BPD

2. Pattison’s Eastkees Winter Storm
Rather a bouncy boy, which at 8 moths is fine. Slightly longer than 1. Needs a little more strength to muzzle. Darkest of eyes and v good ears. Quite a good front. Level in topline. Ok rear. Feet can tighten up. Correct coat texture.

Puppy D

1. Reed’s Byquy Rich Gent
Liked the squareness of this d and his good proportions. Pleasing head. Correct eye shape. Well shaped and set ears. Flat skull. Correct length neck and better shoulder than 2. He is well bodied. Moderate in hind angulation. Well set tail. In good coat. Full of himself moving, lifts legs a little high but time to settle.

2. Robinson’s Samkees from Malta with Love
This d is a good shape. Masc head with the darkest of eyes. Flat skull, good stop. Could have a little more neck . Well ribbed body. Level topline. Enough hind angulation. Coat is slightly long, but markings and texture good.

Junior D

1. Reed’s Byquy Will You Be Rich
Promising 10 mths pup. Well balanced head, dark, almond eyes. Well shaped ears on flat skull. Ok for neck and a well laid shoulder. Could have a little more slope of upper arm. Chest to elbow. Level topline with well set tail. His angulation is moderate and well balanced. Fairly accurate out and back. Tight feet. Good coat, colour and markings.

Special Yearling D
1. Hickson’s Kichigai Luke Skywalker

Masc young d not always wanting to help his handler. Well proportioned head, flat skull. Dark eyes, which are v slightly rounded. Neat ears. Could have a little more neck. Moderate angulation, front and rear. Chest to elbow. Well sprung ribs that go well back. High tail in double curl. Fairly accurate mover with a moderate length of stride. Correct coat texture.

Post Grad D

2 very different looking dogs.

1. Wilkin’s Whizzkees Onyx Sampson
He is slightly too long and a little short in leg, so not the squareness in outline required. Fair head. He has dark eyes. Well set ears. Best angulation of these 2. He has a level topline. Well ribbed body. Correct colour and coat texture. Moved ok.

2. Houghton’s Liekees Ambassador
He is squarer in shape. Not as good a head as 1, slightly pinched under eyes. Dark eyes and well set ears. Ok neck. Moderate and balanced in angulation, level topline. Well set tail. Between coats and could be a better colour.

Limit D

1. Newman’s Leazehond Lightning Bolt
Liked his square outline. Has a pleasing expression. He has dark eyes and correct shaped ears. Well balanced between muzzle and skull. Eyes could perhaps be better shaped. Has a moderate neck and shoulder. Chest to elbow. Well sprung ribs with a short loin. Level in topline. Well set tail. Rear matches his front v well, giving a brisk and balanced actIon and fairly tidy out and back. V good coat texture.

2. Rose’s Rossvale Master of Destiny for Esorkees
Giving his handler a v hard time especially on the move where he could have been much more accurate out and back. Preferred his head to 1. Dark eyes. Correct stop. Flat skull, well set ears. Ok for neck and front. Chest to elbow. Level topline. Good turn of stifle and hock. Correct coat.

3. Edwards’ Torrikees Van Heusen

Really good class to judge, some lovely males here.

1. Atkinson’s Winklestar Hadar
Super d, he is square in outline and such a good mover. Wedge shaped head. Dark eyes. Neat, well set ears. Correct balance of muzzle and skull. Enough neck. Moderate and balanced in his angulation. Level topline. High set tail with a double curl. Super body and rib. Maybe could have a little more definition to some markings, but they are visible and I’m being ultra picky. Tight, deep feet. Super jacket. Put on a great performance to finish BIS.

2. Harris’ Neradmik All About the Boy for Watchkees JW ShCM
Another really lovely, square dog. He pleases in head. Dark eyes. Plenty of stop. Maybe not quite eye shape and ear set of 1. Enough neck. Liked his front. Well, sprung rib and a better underline than 3. High set tail. Feet could be slightly tighter. Moved well. RBIS.

3. Wilkin’s Ch Pommary Quick Silver at Whizzkees

Veteran D

1. Passmore’s Am Gr Ch Trumpet’s Its Good To Be King
Square 8 yr d who excels in profile action. Well shaped head. Dark eyes, maybe slightly round. Good stop with a flat skull. Enough neck. Well made in front and rear. Well sprung ribs. Level topline with a high set tail. Good rear. Nice tight feet. Slightly close moving away and coat could be a better texture, but all over a lovely boy.

2. Lindsay’s Mezanda Madog’s Storm
Not quite the squareness of 1 or his coat texture. Masc head. Dark eyes. Well balanced muzzle to skull and a good wedge, with a flat skull. Liked his neck and front assembly. Level topline. Well sprung ribs. Correct, moderate rear. Like 1 he too could be tidier in from, but he is v good behind and in profile.

Minor Puppy B

1. White’s Neradmik Dear Darling of Whitchakees
Fem b who has a really lovely head. Correct proprotions, flat skull, super eyes, just needs to grow into her ears. Can still come up on leg a little to make her square. Correct neck. Well laid shoulder. Good spring of rib. Chest to elbow. Well set tail. Good rear. Moves v well. Lots of quality.

2. Pattison’s Eastkees Ice Crystal
Like her square shape. She is fem in head, correct eye shape. Well set ears. Flat skull. Enough neck. Well Bodied. Level topline. Double curl to tail. Just rather loose out and back at the moment.

Puppy B

1. Reed’s Byquy Bam Bam
Really promising pup, who is such a good profile mover. She is square in outline. Super head, lovely eye and expression, well set near ears. Correct neck well made in front. Well bodied. Short loin. High set tail with a double curl. Well made rear. Correct coat texture. Still just a little loose out and back, and it was only this that stopped her going even higher. High quality and so v promising. BPIS

2. Lush’s Gallowtree Tassel at Ednaaron
Liked her also v much. She is square and a good mover. She too has a good head. Flat skull, correct stop, maybe slightly pinched under eyes. Correct neck. Well balanced front and rear. Level topline. Single curl to tail, moderate rear.

Junior B

1. Redver & Wheatley’s Kaitakees Asleep in the Back
13 mths and quite raw looking, which is no bad thing. Lovely outline and proportions. Has a fem head. Oval eyes, which are dark. Well set ears. Lengthy neck, well laid shoulder. Well ribbed back. High set tail. Super muscling in her rear. A little disappointing moving away, but true coming towards.

Special Yearling B

1. Hill’s Whizzkees Ebony Silver for Plymkees JW
Square young b, full of fun. She is square in outline. V good mover, especially in profile. Fem head. Muzzle and skull same length, good stop with a flat skull, well shaped and set ears. Alert expression. Decent neck and shoulder. Upper arm just a bit upright and can be careless standing her front feet. Super body. Correct tail well made rear. Excellent coat texture. RBB

Novice B

1. Wilkin’s Whizzkees Ebony Sinders
Square in outline. Has a fem head. Dark eyes. Correct length muzzle. Correct neck into a fairly good front. Well sprung ribs. Level topline. Double curl to tail. Moves better going away than she stands. Correct coat.

2. Redver & Wheatley’s Pommary Almost an Angel
Looks heavier than she is. Good length muzzle and deep stop. Slightly rounded look to skull . Ok neck. Well ribbed. Good tail. A bit sooty on her legs. Ok in profile but rather loose out and back.

Post Grad B

1. Shreeve’s Bargeway Peaches and Cream
Good honest sort of b, she is square and has a brisk even profile stride. Fem head, well proportioned. Dark eyes. She is a bit lazy with her ears. Ok neck. Well bodied. Could be firmer in pastern. Rear angulation matches her front well. Tail ok.

2. Carter’s Amikirs Bucks Fizz of Almraglic
Fem girl, she is almost square and is a good mover. Well proportioned, ultra feminine head. V good eye and expression. Lengthy neck. Balanced and moderate in her angulation. Topline rises ever so slightly. Good colour, markings and coat.

3. Pattison’s Eastkees Silver Sixpence

Limit B

1. White’s Neradmik Meant to be with Whitchakees
V honest sort of b, maybe not the most fem here. She is square in outline and the best mover in class. Well proportioned head, correct shape and colour eyes. Flat skull. Enough neck. Well balanced in her angulation. Well sprung ribs, short loin. Level topline. Just a fraction sooty on legs. Super jacket.

2. Pattison’s Eastkees Sunday Girl
She too has a fairly square outline. Fem in head. Lovely eye and expression. Ok for neck. Well laid shoulder. She is a bit short in upper arm and can be slack with her pasterns standing. Well bodied. High set tail . Strong rear.

1. Lloyd’s Valindale Toot Toot Tootsie Sh CM
Square b, she has lovely markings and in correct coat. Most accurate out and back mover of these girls. She has a fem head, Well proportioned with a flat skull. Alert expression. Liked her length of neck. Well balanced and moderate in angulation. Just right for body. Could sometimes be a bit slack in topline.

2. Pattison’s Eastkees Timeless Love
She has a v good head, fem with super expression. Flat skull. Lengthy neck. Moderate and well balanced in angulation. Feet a little slack. Well ribbed. Correct coat. Tendency to put brakes on at times.

3. Hickson’s Kichigai Ups A Daisy

1. Passmore’s Torrikees With Attitude
What a lovely elderly lady. She is square and moves v well. She has a super head. Well balanced. Super eye and expression. Flat skull. Correct length of neck. Angulation is moderate and balanced. She is in super body. Well set tail. Coat texture maybe not quite as perfect as in her youth, but a lovely quality girl. Her accuracy on the move took her to BB

2. Francis’ Swashway Material Girl

Liked her v much, maybe in slightly too full coat and not the texture it might once have been, she has a most appealing head. Dark eyes. Well set ears. Enough neck. Well balanced in angulation. Legs slightly sooty. Moved well.

3. Lindsay’s Mezanda Teacher’s Pet

Breeders B

1. Hill’s Plymkees Limited Edition Sh CM
9 yr b in v good form. Better in profile action than out and back. Lovely head. Super expression. Could have a little more neck. Moderate and balanced angulation. Topline runs up slightly. Super rib cage. Well set tail. V good colour and coat. Deep feet.

Brace

1. Wilkin’s Both went well together, which I think surprised their handler.
