The Keeshond Club Centenary Dog of the Year 2024

Held during the Club’s Centenary celebrations. The DOTY took place at the Windmill Hotel.
Judge for this prestigious competition was Mrs M Mulholland. Her critiques are below.

Dog of the Year: Ch Amikirs Loverboy for Watchkees
4 year old mature male who was so very sound and hard to beat. He has excellent breed type, is right for size and balance, and had everything I was looking for. Such a lovely typical head shape, balanced in skull and muzzle, correct dark pigment, almond shaped obliquely set eyes dark and expressive. Nice pencilling . Neat Ivy shaped ears, set on just right for the breed. He is compact in body, well ribbed and with good cat feet , has excellent muscle tone and in full coat, just really filled my eye. Has great ring
presence.

Reserve Dog of the Year: Ch Divnyi Drug Dar ( Imp Russia)
Again mature male, cobby and of correct size, so well knit with sound and typical movement. Exceptional eye shape and colour with a super expression, in full coat, a real handsome boy who pushed
winner hard.

Puppy of the Year: Bargeway Crystal Clear
Stunning young bitch, right for size, cobby body, round bone and neat cat feet, Such a lovely eye shape band expression, good pencilling, balanced in skull and muzzle. She is so well made in front with a good deep lengthy rib, strong loin and high set tail. She is such a beauty, has such excellent breed type , so sound and impressive in full coat, all shades of grey.

Reserve Puppy of the Year: Bargeway Breeze on By
Neat and super sound bitch with one of the best head shapes of the day, correct Ivy shaped ears set just right, Dark expressive almond shaped eyes, set right, sound in front, well ribbed, strong loin, quality bitch all through, such excellent breed type, when she grows a coat will be force to be reckoned with I am sure.

Veteran of the Year: Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonley.
10 year old male, so square and cobby, exceptionally well made in head, correct almond shaped eyes, obliquely set, neat Ivy shaped ears, still very sound all through, correctly set and carried tail, in full coat, quite outstanding for age.

Reserve Veteran of the Year: Ch Lacetrom Shuna SHCM
Such a really pretty feminine girl, nine and a half year old and not showing any signs of aging at all. Excellent body shape, rib and such a sound rear end. Good dark eye with pencilling, great harness markings too. Has breed type in abundance, so very sound and a delight to watch. Two very exceptional veterans.
