The Keeshond Club
Championship Show – 7 April 2013
Firstly I would like to say how honoured I was to be invited to judge your Championship Show. I was very pleased with my entry and my sincere thanks to the Committee & Members who made my appointment such a special event, a memory that I will never forget.
The Venue was amazing and the ring and decoration looked fantastic and added to the atmosphere of the show. My Congratulations to all the exhibitors who accepted my decisions gracefully, it was a pleasure to judge your dogs.
A special thank you to my stewards Toni Jackson & Dave Chapman who kept me on the straight and narrow! It was lovely to work with both of you.
I would also like to thank the club for the lovely gifts I received. They will take pride of place and remind me of my appointment. Thank you!
Attached is my critique of your dogs, please accept it in the manner it is given. Overall I found your dogs to be varied in style making it difficult at time to judge some classes. Movement overall was good, coats were in general of good texture however condition and colour needs to be improved. Some of your dogs had lovely heads and expression. My biggest concern would be size – Keeshonds are a medium size, short compact dog. I found many to be big and coarse and certainly well over 17” & 18”. Temperaments I found great and general health was good.

Minor Puppy Dog (2)
1. Newman’s Leazehond Lightning Bolte – Full of life, balanced 8 month old puppy, Pleasing wedge head and alert kind expression. Dark almond shape well placed eyes, Ears a little wide set but small. Very good bone, compact body, well set tail and carried high. Coat of correct texture, however would of preferred better colour. A little naughty but overall moved well.
2. Shepherd’s Kichigai Lord of The Dance – Naughty balanced 7 month old puppy with a pleasing head and expression. Good size & well boned. Well bodied, good tail set and carriage. Needs to settle more on the move, could be sounder in front.
Junior Dog (3)
1. Wogan’s Neradmik Beach Boy Avec Deminac – Well up on size 15 month old. Strong wedge shaped head with dark almond eyes and well set ears. Very strong bone, good straight front, depth of chest to his elbows. Well bodied boy with high set tail and carried well over his back. Very good coat and texture but would prefer better colour which may clear as he matures. He moved well.
2. Miles & Cullen’s Neradmik Game Plan For Lekkerbek – Another well up on size. Strong wedge shaped head with dark almond eyes and well set ears. Very strong bone – I would like a better front he lacked in depth & width of chest, this may improve with maturity. Well bodied with a high set tail and well plumed carried over back. He has a very good coat and good clear colour.
I see these 2 boys are litter brothers – very similar in style to each other.
